Report: LSU transfer lineman Kimo Makane’ole commits to West Virginia

LSU transfer offensive and defensive lineman Kimo Makane’ole has reportedly committed to transfer to West Virginia, according to CBS Sports.
Makane’ole entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Jan. 3 after four seasons in Baton Rouge, where he played two seasons on the offensive line before moving to the defensive side of the ball this past season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining in Morgantown.
Makane’ole arrived at LSU as a four-star recruit out of the 2021 cycle from Niceville (Fla.) High, where he ranked No. 18 among interior offensive linemen, No. 42 from the state of Florida and No. 299 nationally in the class, according to On3’s Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
This past season, Makane’ole appeared in 10 games on the LSU defensive line, but managed just a single tackle against Nicholls. Prior to his move to defense, Makane’ole appeared in nine games as a backup offensive lineman between 2022-23, playing 67 total snaps during that span.
Makane’ole is the 13th player West Virginia has signed out of the NCAA Transfer Portal since it opened in early December, joining cornerbacks Derek Carter (Jacksonville State) and Jordan Scruggs (South Alabama), linebacker Ashton Woods (North Carolina), safety Jordan Waller (Chattanooga), tight end Jacob Barrick (Jacksonville State) and Johnny Pascuzzi (Iowa), quarterback Jaylen Henderson (Texas A&M), interior offensive lineman Walter Young Bear (Tulsa), receivers Oran Singleton (Eastern Michigan), Cyrus Traugh (Youngstown State) and Cam Vaughn (Jacksonville State), and kicker Ethan Head (Tulane).

Iowa transfer tight end Johnny Pascuzzi commits to West Virginia
Iowa Hawkeyes transfer tight end Johnny Pascuzzi is taking his talents to Morgantown, committing to join the West Virginia Mountaineers via the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.
Pascuzzi played high school football at Rockhurst (Kansas City, MO), where he did not have a star-rating as part of the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
In two seasons with Iowa, Pascuzzi caught two passes for 41 yards. He had one reception in each of the past two seasons. He’ll be looking to make a bigger impact with West Virginia in 2025.
