Dillon Gabriel had a record-breaking career at Mililani (Hawaii) High. He threw for a state-record 9,948 passing yards. His 105 passing touchdowns are also second all-time. He went to UCF where he emerged as a true freshman and started the final 10 games of the season. He then led the team during the 2020 COVID season and the first three games of 2021 before suffering an injury against Louisville. Near the end of the season, Gabriel entered the transfer portal. Gabriel originally committed to transfer to UCLA on Dec. 16, 2021, before changing his mind and committing to Oklahoma on Jan. 3, 2022. He is the son of Dori and Garrett Gabriel. Garrett Gabriel was a quarterback for Hawai'i from 1986-1990. During his last two years at the school, Gabriel threw for 4,902 yards and 42 touchdowns as the Rainbow Warriors went 16-8-1 over that span. He was in the same quarterback room as future Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo. Dillon Gabriel is majoring in multidisciplinary studies.
