Ethan Burke was a four-star recruit and a top 30 EDGE prospect coming out of Austin (Texas) Westlake High School in the 2022 recruiting class. Burke was named Defensive MVP of District 26-6A and first-team all-district in 2021. He compiled 58 tackles, including 40 solo, 14 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks, 19 pressures, three forced fumbles, one interception, nine passes defended and one blocked punt as a senior in the prep ranks. Burke made an early impact in his Texas career, playing in 11 games and racking up six tackles. Burke further made an impact in the 2023 season with 35 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. His biggest game of the 2023 regular season came against Oklahoma when he had six tackles, but he also registered two sacks and a forced fumble against K-State. Burke was named honorable mention all-league after the 2023 season.
