Ousmane Kromah first emerged when he was a two-sport star at Lee County East Middle School as a two-way star in football and basketball. In fact, his coach at the time, Russ Hayes, called him the best that he'd ever seen at that age. “The truth is I don’t even know who would be the second-best player behind Ousmane," Hayes told ITGNext in 2021. "He really is a good player.” Kromah is so good that in the 2023 season as a high school star at Lee County High, Kromah was named as the region player of the year after rushing for 1,783 yards, 20 rushing touchdowns, and catching 31 passes for 522 yards with nine more touchdowns.
