Women's basketball takeaways: 11/9 edition

If you couldn’t catch all the women’s basketball action yesterday or just need a refresher, here are some takeaways.
MVP of the Day: Jazzy Davidson
1. USC is much better than I anticipated
I’ll admit it: I was wrong. USC looked really strong in their first big win of the season against NC State. I wanted to see how this group gelled, and I think a bigger sample size will provide more insight, but they’re certainly a Top 25 team right now.
Jazzy Davidson is incredibly gifted on both ends of the floor and UCLA transfer Londynn Jones had a standout performance from beyond the arc.

2. Maryland (more than) survived a scare
Maryland has been dealing with some significant injuries and had three key players out against Georgetown on Sunday. The Hoyas were able to capitalize and led for much of the game (by as many as 10 points), but the Terps didn’t give up.
They went on a massive fourth-quarter run and wound up with an 85-66 victory. Freshman Addi Mack had a standout performance with 23 points and Duke transfer Oluchi Okananwa came up big down the stretch.
