The women’s college basketball season is in full swing. Now, the AP Top 25 Poll has been updated following Week 6 of action around the country.

It’s now been two weeks since any team ranked in the AP Top 10 the week before lost. That doesn’t mean they haven’t played in any major games, though. It also doesn’t mean there won’t be any movement. So, it’s worth keeping an eye on how perception is changing at this point in the season when most teams are still playing non-conference games.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the updated AP Top 25 Poll. Along with that, there should be some excellent insight into where the women’s college basketball season stands.

1. UConn

The UConn Huskies would only play one game last week. That came against AP-ranked USC and it wasn’t particularly close, with UConn winning 79-51. Again, they’ve seemingly solidified themselves.

This next week is going to be an interesting one for UConn. The Huskies are going to see Marquette in Big East play. Then, it should be a good non-conference test against Iowa.

2. Texas

Texas remained unbeaten last week and helped solidify themselves as one of the top-ranked teams in the AP Poll. That was highlighted by a non-conference game against Baylor. There, the Longhorns dominated Baylor, who was ranked 13th at the time.

This next week, Texas is going to continue its non-conference play. First, the Longhorns will see Northwestern State and later South Dakota State.

3. South Carolina

Since the last AP Poll came out, South Carolina had one non-conference game. That was against Penn State and it wasn’t particularly close. The Gamecocks would win by 40 points.

Non-conference play is going to continue this next week for South Carolina. First, the Gamecocks will see USF and, later, they’ll see FGCU.

4. UCLA

UCLA is continuing to rank highly in the AP Poll. With just one loss and plenty of talent, that’s no surprise.

The Bruins are back in non-conference action this week. First, UCLA will see Cal Poly. A little later, Long Beach State to help tune-up before the Bruins get back into Big Ten play.

5. LSU

The LSU Tigers added a win against Louisiana Tech in non-conference play last week. That came in dominant fashion. Now, they’ve maintained a high ranking in the AP Poll.

Non-conference play continues this next week for LSU. The Tigers are set to see Morgan State and later UT Arlington before the next AP Poll drops.

6. Michigan

Michigan had just one non-conference game last week. That was a blowout win over Akron to help maintain their Top-10 ranking in the AP Poll.

This next week, Michigan has one more non-conference game on the slate. That’s going to be against Oakland on Sunday. After that, it’s a return to Big Ten play.

7. Maryland

It wasn’t a fair fight when Maryland took on Delaware State on Wednesday night. Winning by 70 points, the Terrapins flexed in their only game last week. So, it’s no surprise that the AP Poll has Maryland ranked so highly.

Coming up, Maryland will have just one game this next week. That’s a non-conference game against Central Connecticut State.

8. Oklahoma

Oklahoma took care of business last week. That, most notably, came in Bedlam when the Sooners blew out Oklahoma State. That came in the wake of a blowout win over Little Rock.

The Sooners are going to get a brief break next week. Oklahoma won’t be back in action until Monday, December 22nd. That’s going to be against NC Central.

9. TCU

TCU was able to maintain its unbeaten record last week. Naturally, they were able to maintain their high ranking in the AP Poll as well. That came after snagging a non-conference win over Jacksonville.

There’s one more tune up for TCU in non-conference play this week against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. After that, it’s a major Big 12 test against Kansas State.

10. Iowa State

The Iowa State Cyclones maintained their Top 10 ranking in the AP Poll and their undefeated record this past week. That came following a close win over rival Iowa. Then, the Cyclones would avoid a letdown against Northern Iowa.

Next week, Iowa State is going to have a breather before getting into Big 12 play on Sunday. There, they’re set to see the Kansas Jayhawks.
