Women's college basketball takeaways from 11/7

If you couldn’t catch all the women’s basketball action yesterday or just need a refresher, here are some takeaways.
1. Don’t doubt the Longhorns
Texas faced On3’s No. 25 Richmond last night at home and dominated in the second half for an 85-56 victory. Prior to the game, I said this would be a good litmus test and it absolutely was.
A lot of people are doubtful of what the Longhorns can do this year, but Madison Booker went off and the Longhorns were able to win with ease. Their ceiling will rise even higher when Ashton Judd returns from injury and freshman Aaliyah Crump’s shots start falling. From what we’ve seen so far, this is a team with title potential.

2. Shay Ciezki goes beast mode
Indiana faced a scare last night when they trailed by seven at half to UIC. When the team as a whole couldn’t get much going, enter Shay Ciezki.
Ciezki dropped 25 points in the second half and scored a total of 35 throughout the game. If not for her, this result would likely differ, but the Hoosiers pulled through for a 72-56 victory on Friday night.
