2028 4-star CB Phoenix Evans transferring to IMG Academy

One of the top defensive back prospects of the Class of 2028 has decided to take his talents down to IMG Academy (Fla.) for his junior season.

Sophomore four-star Phoenix Evans announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, announced that he has officially transferred from Don Bosco Prep (NJ) to IMG Academy. The Ascenders finished 9-0 and as Florida’s No. 1 high school football team from the 2025 season.

“I’d like to announce that I have transferred to IMG Academy. Thank you Dan Sabella and the Don Bosco Prep football staff for supporting my decision,” Evans said in his social media post on X.

Evans was one of the top defensive back prospects out of the Garden State as the four-star cornerback compiled 39 total tackles and batted away 11 passes for the top-ranked Ironmen. The cornerback is the No. 15 ranked prospect out of Florida and No. 6 at his position for the 2028 class.

Don Bosco Prep ended this past season with an 11-1 record, losing to St. Joseph Regional in the NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship game and finished ranked No. 1 in the final 2025 New Jersey High School Football Massey Rankings.

IMG Academy ended this past 2025 campaign No. 3 nationally, according to the Rivals National 2025 High School Football Composite Rankings.
