The cast for the 2025 Florida high school boys basketball Class 6A state championship game is finally complete. While St. Thomas Aquinas and Evans are still in the running for the state title, they got this far via contrasting styles.

The Raiders dominated the Charlotte Fighting Tarpons in their state semifinal matchup 69-42. It was a wire-to-wire finish for St. Thomas Aquinas as their opponents never led throughout the game. They established a 38-14 halftime lead and went cruise control to clinch their 28th win of the season.

Four Raiders players finished in double-digit scoring, led by Clarence Westbrook Jr.’s 19 points to go with five rebounds. KJ Sandi contributed 18 points and three assists, while Dwayne Wimbley Jr. added 12 points.

DJ Sandi had ten points, five rebounds, and eight assists to keep St. Thomas Aquinas’ championship hopes alive. St. Thomas Aquinas shot 65.9 percent from the field, including ten three-point conversions. Meanwhile, Jordan Attia led all Charlotte scorers with 15 points, while Jordan Taylor added 12.

In the other Florida high school boys basketball Class 6A semifinal showdown, Evans edged Tocoi Creek 60-53. It was a tight contest for the first three quarters, with Tocoi Creek enjoying a 42-38 advantage. However, the Trojans pulled away with a 22-11 fourth quarter run to win a game that featured 11 lead changes.

Arosco Dubios led the way for Evans with 24 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Antonio Pollard chipped in 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Rahean Edmonds Jr. tallied ten points. Dewayne Dixon was a force on defense, finishing with four blocks, to go with six points. This victory improved the Trojans’ record to 25-6 this season.

Conversely, Tocoi Creek competed valiantly despite having only six players logging in minutes. Tyson Gilbert (13 points), Marc Mitchell (12), Javares Rickerson (11), and King McFadden (10) kept the Toros within the game until Evans kicked into another gear.

The Orlando-based Evans Trojans and the Fort Lauderdale-based St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will battle for the Florida high school boys basketball Class 6A state championship on March 8 at 5 p.m. local time. It’s an intriguing contest as Evans is ranked 13th while St. Thomas Aquinas is fifth in the Florida On3 Composite Team Rankings.
