Forney (Texas) RB Javian Osborne breaks program touchdown record

Javian Osborne continues to cement his legacy at Forney High School.
The dominant blue-chip senior running back has emerged as one of the top prospects in the state of Texas this cycle. He’s helped the Jackrabbits take a massive stride this fall and they remain in the hunt for the UIL Texas 6A Division II championship.
Over the weekend, Osborne made history, reaching 100 career touchdowns, setting the school’s new all-time TD record.
Forney is now 9-2 on the season after defeating Naaman Forest 56-27 in the first round of the playoffs this weekend. The Jackrabbits have now won six games in a row and they rank as the No. 29 team in the Lone Star State, according to the Massey Ratings.
At the end of the regular season, Osborne also eclipsed 6,000 career rushing yards. He’s over 1,600 rushing yards and has 24 scores to his name this fall, per MaxPreps.
Forney reclassed up to 6A and the step up in competition hasn’t phased Osborne or his teammates. He racked up over 400 rushing yards and six scores in the first two games of the year. The Jackrabbits are averaging over 40 points per game.
Osborne is the No. 107 overall prospect and No. 8 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 15 player in Texas.

He committed to Notre Dame on May 3, choosing the Fighting Irish over Michigan in a hotly-contested recruitment. He remains locked in with Marcus Freeman and Co. and is one half of a dynamic blue-chip RB duo alongside Jonaz Walton.
“The people there,” Osborne told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong about his decision. “I feel like the people around campus and what Notre Dame has in the locker room, they have great people that have great mindsets. When you walk around campus you see that everybody has their head on straight. It’s a different level of college.”
Forney will take on Harker Heights (9-2) in the second round of the playoffs on Friday, Nov. 21. The winner will take on the winner of Willis vs. Tomball. The Massey Ratings predict a 35-32 win for the Jackrabbits.
