High School Football: How to watch No. 1 St. John Bosco vs. No. 12 Mater Dei

On Halloween, arguably the top high school football game in the country takes place at Panish Family Stadium as the No. 1 ranked St. John Bosco Braves play host to their longtime rival Mater Dei Monarchs. The game kicks off 7 p.m. Eastern Time and 10 p.m. Pacific, but before any of that happens, we give you players to watch for and which streaming service you can watch this clash of high school football powerhouses on.
Monarchs to Watch
Mater Dei (7-2) has suffered their most losses in a season since 2015, but still features one of the most talented high school football rosters in the land. Though losses against Corona Centennial and Santa Margarita were surprising, the Monarchs still have the overall ability to beat any team in the country, including their rival St. John Bosco.
QB Ryan Hopkins: The three-star quarterback pledge will need to be at his best if Mater Dei is going to pull off the minor upset. Hopkins (Wisconsin commitment) this season has completed 112 of 186 passes for 1,722 yards and 11 touchdowns. Hopkins will need to keep turnovers to a minimum on Halloween if Mater Dei wants to come away with the win on the road.
WR Kayden Dixon-Wyatt: The first of two Ohio State commitments on this list of players, Dixon-Wyatt is the team’s go-to-wide receiver this season statistically. Dixon-Wyatt leads the team in receptions (34), yards (572) and touchdowns (4). Hopkins has an array of targets to throw to, but if there’s anyone he’s really built a good rapport with throughout the 2025 campaign, it has been Dixon-Wyatt.
DT Tomuhini Topui: A player that will need to dominate in the trenches in order for Mater Dei to come away with the win over the Braves is the 6-foot-2, 327-pound Topui. The USC commit this season has tallied 18 tackles, 6.5 for loss and two sacks. The four-star nose tackle will need to create havoc for the Monarchs tomorrow night and clog up the running lanes.
TE Mark Bowman: The 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 1 tight end in the senior class according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, an equally weighted formula that utilizes the three major recruiting services. Bowman this season has caught 21 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns. He committed to USC back in May.
WR Chris Henry Jr.: Henry, who has caught 18 passes for 353 yards, has to come out on the field and play like he did against Bishop Gorman a few weeks ago if Mater Dei wants to come away with a win over their rivals. The Ohio State wide receiver commitment is rated by the Rivals Industry Rankings as a five-star prospect and the No. 22 overall prospect in the senior class.
Braves to Watch
The St. John Bosco Braves (9-0) are the No. 1 team in the country based on the most recent Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings and Halloween night they will host their rivals, the No. 12 ranked Mater Dei Monarchs. St. John Bosco, also the top ranked team of California high school football, heads in with a undefeated record and looks to move to a perfect 10-0 to close the book on the regular season.
QB Koa Malau’ulu: Malau’ulu is playing some of his best football in his sophomore season as he leads the No. 1 team in the land. The signal caller has completed 72 percent of his passes for 2,002 yards, 30 touchdown passes and just one interception. After having already faced Mater Dei twice last season, Malau’ulu surely has in the back of his mind what to expect versus the Monarchs this time around.

WR Madden Williams: The four-star Texas A&M commit has been one of the country’s top wide receivers all season long and he’s got the numbers to back that up. Williams through nine games has caught 35 passes for 712 yards and seven touchdowns. The future Aggie has shown in previous games he shows up when the lights shine the brightest and expectation will be he will do so again on Friday.
CB Jailen Hill: The senior four-star cornerback will have his hands full looking to slow down either Kayden Dixon-Wyatt or Chris Henry Jr., whomever he ends up being matched up with on Friday night. Hill has shown he can make plays on any given night as the defensive back leads the team with six interceptions.
EDGE Dutch Horisk: The Oregon commit will need to be at the top of his game against a potent Mater Dei offense. Horisk has tallied 49 tackles, nine for a loss and 4.5 sacks so far this season. If Horisk is able to get pressure on Ryan Hopkins throughout the evening, that should hinder any offensive success the Monarchs plan on having.
WR Daniel Odom: Odom pairs up with the aforementioned Williams to form one of the best wide receiving duos in the nation. The Oklahoma commit has been solid once again this fall campaign. through nine contests has hauled in 34 passes for 503 yards and six touchdowns.
