The postseason continued in the Prairie State last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Illinois high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 10.

1. Mount Carmel Caravan

The Caravan’s 2025 Illinois high school football season continues after defeating Belleville East in the second round of the Class 8A state playoffs. Mount Carmel’s 41 points in the second and third quarters did the damage against the Lancers. The Caravan will advance to the quarterfinals against Lincoln-Way East.

2. East St. Louis Flyers

The Flyers advanced to the Class 6A state quarterfinals after dominating Glenwood 53-14. Reece Shanklin threw for 203 passing yards and two touchdowns while Myson Johnson-Cook rushed for 251 yards and three touchdowns. Amir Tillman added 108 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Ronnie Gomiller and Kortez Rupert each had a receiving TD. East St. Louis will face Simeon in the final eight.

3. Brother Rice Crusaders

The Crusaders have been impressive to start the Illinois high school football Class 7A state playoffs. After blanking Jefferson, Brother Rice earned a 46-0 shutout victory against Harry D. Jacobs. Josh Garcia, Brody Briggs, and Decatur Washington each had a rushing touchdown. The Crusaders will face St. Charles North in the quarterfinals.

4. Lincoln-Way East Griffins

The Griffins dominated Palatine in the second round of the Class 8A state playoffs. Lincoln-Way East scored 48 first half points, putting the game out of reach. They will advance to the quarterfinals and face Chicago Mt. Carmel.

5. Maine South Hawks

The Hawks continue their journey through the Illinois high school football Class 8A state playoffs after edging Hinsdale Central 33-29. Niko Kokosioulis rushed for 112 yards in the victory. Maine South will compete against Oswego in the quarterfinals.
