Maryland High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 14

The high school football season continued in Maryland last week, as many of the top programs in the Old Line State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Maryland high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 14.
1. St. Frances Academy Panthers
The best team in Maryland high school football extended their winning streak to five games after a 60-0 shutout victory against St. Thomas More. St. Frances Academy hasn’t allowed any points in their last four games. More importantly, they can improve to 7-1 by defeating Hun School on October 17.
2. DeMatha Catholic Stags
The Stags remained undefeated through six games after a low-scoring 7-0 win over Good Counsel. DeMatha Catholic completed a touchdown pass with four minutes left in the game, enough to give them a 6-0 record. Next on their schedule is an October 18 road game against Bishop McNamara.
3. Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are on a five-game winning streak after dominating Concordia Prep 42-10. Archbishop Spalding already held a 21-3 halftime lead and did not let up. Brian Snowden Jr. threw for three touchdowns, two to Aaron Igwebe. Antonio Ledbetter added two rushing touchdowns, while Kam Miller made an 85-yard kick return TD. The Cavaliers will have a bye week before returning to action against Loyola Blakefield on October 24.
4. Good Counsel Falcons
The Falcons have lost three of their last four games, including a disappointing defeat to Maryland high school football powerhouse DeMatha Catholic. They’ve had two shutout losses in their last four matches. Good Counsel can bounce back by defeating St. John’s College on the 18th.
5. McDonogh School Eagles
The Eagles’ three-game winning streak ended after a 28-21 loss to Calvert Hall College. McDonogh School lost despite having more first downs and plays made. They can get back on the winning track by defeating Concordia Prep on October 25.
6. Calvert Hall College Cardinals
The Cardinals have erased their two-game losing streak by winning two in a row. After their 28-21 victory over McDonogh, Calvert Hall can earn their third straight victory by defeating St. Mary’s on the 17th.
7. Quince Orchard Cougars
The Cougars earned their sixth consecutive victory in the 2025 Maryland high school football season after defeating Sherwood. Josiah Teasley threw for two touchdown passes, while Kacey Gilliam had two interceptions on defense. Quince Orchard can go to 7-0 by defeating Clarksburg on October 16.
8. North Point Eagles
The Eagles remained undefeated after a 34-14 victory against Huntingtown. From a 7-7 halftime score, North Point outscored the Hurricanes in the second half 27-7. They can go to 7-0 by defeating La Plata on the 17th.

9. Bishop McNamara Mustangs
After a three-game losing streak, the Mustangs have won two straight after beating the Gonzaga Eagles. Donovan Barnes had two rushing touchdowns, while Taariq Denson had 101 rushing yards and a TD. Bishop McNamara can make it three in a row by defeating DeMatha Catholic on the 18th.
10. Linganore Lancers
The Lancers are perfect six games into the 2025 Maryland high school football season. Their latest result is a 45-14 domination of Oakdale, the fourth time this season they’ve reached the 40-point mark. Linganore will return to action on October 17, hosting Middletown.
