Maryland High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Sept. 30

The high school football season continued in Maryland last week, as many of the top programs in the Old Line State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Maryland high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Sept. 30.
1. St. Frances Academy Panthers
The best team in Maryland high school football improved to 4-1, with their only loss coming against St. John Bosco. St. Frances Academy returns to action against The First Academy on October 3.
2. DeMatha Catholic Stags
The Stags remain at 4-0 after their recent victory against Mt. Zion Prep. After a bye week, DeMatha Catholic will face Riverdale Baptist on October 3.
3. Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers
The Cavaliers have won three in a row after their 42-0 shutout victory against Gilman. Archbishop Spalding delivered the finishing blows in the second and third quarters, scoring 14 points in each chapter. They will host St. Mary’s on October 3.
4. Good Counsel Falcons
The Falcons remain in Maryland high school football’s top ten despite losing to Virginia’s St. James Academy. Jackson Rice connected with Kobe Ellis for Good Counsel’s lone touchdown. Now on a two-game losing skid, the Falcons will try to end their slump against St. Mary’s Ryken on October 3.
5. McDonogh School Eagles
The Eagles earned back-to-back wins after beating St. Mary’s 41-0. Braeden Palazzo threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns, while Carlos Ferguson finished with 105 passing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Nick Abrams led the McDonogh School defense with seven total tackles, including two sacks. The Eagles can extend their winning streak if they defeat Mount Saint Joseph on October 3.
6. Quince Orchard Cougars
The Cougars completed their third shutout victory this season, defeating Seneca Valley 49-0. Quince Orchard has only surrendered six points in four games. They will try to sustain this dominant run against Winston Churchill on October 3.
7. Calvert Hall College Cardinals
The Cardinals ended their two-game losing skid by defeating Mount Saint Joseph 28-14. Calvert Hall improves to 3-2 for the 2025 Maryland high school football season and they’ll play McDonogh on October 10.
8. North Point Eagles
The Eagles improved to 4-0 following their 49-12 domination of Henry E. Lackey. Next on North Point’s schedule is a home game against Thomas Stone on October 2.

9. Loyola Blakefield Dons
The Dons rediscovered their winning ways after defeating Concordia Prep 33-16. Carlos Spencer threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns, while Mason Russell added 94 rushing yards. Carston Brown (102 yards, one touchdown) and Brayden Pross (132 yards, one TD) led Loyola Blakefield’s aerial attack. On defense, Matthew Miranda collected two sacks, while Cole Mosier had 15 total tackles. The Dons can start a winning streak by defeating Gilman on October 4.
10. Milford Mill Academy Millers
The Millers entered the top 10 after a 62-0 shutout victory against Catonsville. Mi’cah Williams threw for three touchdowns, while Damon Ferguson finished with 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Milford Mill defense generated 13 tackles for losses, including 4.5 sacks.
