The high school football season continued in North Carolina last week, as many of the top programs in the Tar Heel State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 North Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 3.

1. Providence Day School Chargers

The Chargers retained the top spot in North Carolina high school football after a 49-0 shutout of Charlotte Country Day School. Cole Cater threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, while Aidan Gallos rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Gordon Sellars caught four balls for 74 yards and two TDs. On defense, Jace Goodwin made 2.5 of Providence Day School’s six sacks, and the entire unit had 15 tackles for losses. The Chargers will face North Raleigh Christian Academy on November 7.

2. William Amos Hough Huskies

The Huskies improved to 10-0 after a 56-0 shutout of Hopewell. Ethan Royal threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while the offense scored three rushing TDs. Likewise, the William Amos Hough defense generated four fumble recoveries on defense. Having the perfect record should qualify Hough for the playoffs.

3. Grimsley Whirlies

The Whirlies remained perfect in the 2025 North Carolina high school football season after a 45-8 domination of Ben L. Smith. This victory marked the fourth time that Grimsley limited an opponent to single-digit scoring.

4. Weddington Warriors

Over their last six games, the Warriors have limited their opponents to seven points or less. That stretch includes three shutouts, including their 49-0 victory over Piedmont. What’s more impressive is that Weddington has surrendered only 37 points in their last eight games.

5. Millbrook Wildcats

The Wildcats remained spotless through ten games after beating Corinth Holders 25-6. Bryson Gray threw for 258 yards and a touchdown, while Brilison McCullers had 68 rushing yards and a score. Malachi Thomas finished with 108 receiving yards, and Jacob Bowen scored a touchdown off a fumble recovery. Millbrook hopes to keep their winning ways going as they enter the 2025 North Carolina high school football playoffs.
