Penn State QB commit Troy Huhn hurls five TDs as Mission Hills (Calif.) improves to 5-0

Penn State went across the country to nab a commitment from four-star quarterback Troy Huhn over a year ago last summer. Now a senior for Mission Hills (Calif.), Huhn is balling halfway through the 2025 season.
The Grizzlies are now 5-0 with Huhn at the helm of the attack. Last Friday, he put together another strong performance in a 52-0 win over Ramona.
Completing 15 of just 17 pass attempts, Huhn racked up 234 yards and five touchdowns. His numbers this season now include a 78-percent completion rate, 1,080 passing yards, 14 passing touchdowns, a pair of rushing scores and three interceptions.
It’s been smooth sailing for Mission Hills thus far. The offense is now averaging 36 points per game, but that’s a mark that it hasn’t even needed to hit yet this fall. The Grizzlies’ defense has pitched a pair of shutouts and has only given up multiple scores in two of their five games.
Their biggest win of the season came on Aug. 29 as they fought past Oakridge, a top-25 team, 24-13. Mission Hills is now the No. 14 team in the Golden State, per the Massey Ratings. Another top-25 clash is on deck this Friday as it hosts No. 16 La Costa Canyon. The Massey Ratings predict a 28-22 victory for the Grizzlies.
Leading Mission Hills to eight wins in 2024, Huhn threw for more than 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior. That followed a sophomore campaign that witnessed over 1,600 passing yards and 16 more scores through the air.

Huhn hasn’t wavered since he locked in an early commitment to Penn State last June. He’s taken frequent cross-country trips to Happy Valley and is as locked-in as ever with the Big Ten program. This summer, he competed at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles.
“Penn State is the school for me because of what they do for me,” Huhn told Rivals’ Chad Simmons this May. “The unconditional love they show me is unbelievable and I’m so grateful for it … I am done. They have always done such a great job keeping good care of me, nonstop checking in, making sure I am happy. I am locked in with Penn State.”
The Nittany Lions currently have the No. 16 class in the nation, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Huhn is one of 11 four-stars in the class and one of 25 commits overall.
