The postseason began in the Palmetto State last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 South Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 10.

1. Dutch Fork Foxes

After defeating Irmo to close the regular season at 8-1, the Foxes enjoyed a bye in the South Carolina high school football Class AAAAA Division 1 state playoffs. Dutch Fork’s postseason journey begins against Boiling Springs on November 14.

2. Northwestern Trojans

The Trojans will enter the playoffs with a six-game winning streak and a 9-1 overall record. Northwestern earned a first-round bye in the Class AAAAA Division 2 state playoffs and will face Catawba Ridge on the 14th. The Trojans have defeated the Copperheads earlier in the season, 56-20.

3. South Pointe Stallions

The Stallions dominated Beaufort in the opening round of the South Carolina high school football Class AAA state playoffs, 63-13. J’Zavien Currence dominated on offense, tallying 173 passing yards, 103 rushing yards, and four touchdowns (three passing). R.J. Brown (92 rushing yards, one touchdown) and Rasean Brown (96 yards, one TD) also made significant contributions to the South Pointe ground game. Meanwhile, Malik Ratliff had a couple of receiving touchdowns. The Stallions defense also generated 16 tackles for losses (including five sacks) and two interceptions. South Pointe will face Fountain Inn in the next round on November 14.

4. Irmo Yellowjackets

The Yellowjackets would have closed the regular season with a perfect record, if not for their loss against Dutch Fork. Despite that defeat, Irmo earned a first-round bye in the Class AAAAA Division 2 playoffs. After that break, Irmo will face Lugoff-Elgin to begin their postseason journey on November 14.

5. South Florence Bruins

The Bruins started the South Carolina high school football Class AAAA state playoffs with a 47-7 victory over Darlington. Messiah Jackson threw for 152 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Gabe McLaughlin had a couple of rushing touchdowns. JayAun Perkins finished with 96 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Malik Robinson had two scoring catches. Meanwhile, the South Florence defense showed up, tallying five sacks and two interceptions. The Bruins’ playoff journey continues with a second round game against Bishop England on November 14.
