The St. James Academy (Va.) get multiple impact transfers
The off-season for Virginia high school football might’ve just started, but the The St. James Academy Strivers (Va.) are already seeing an influx of transfers come to the program.
Three-star running back Darren Williams and wide receiver Khalil Ferguson both announced via social media recently that they’re leaving their respective schools and transferring into The St. James Academy. The Strivers just finished up their first high school football season, finishing with a 8-1 record and as the No. 3 ranked team in Virginia.
Williams is leaving a Varina Blue Devils team that just defeated Loudoun County, 47-0, for the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 4 state championship. The running back has offers from Cincinnati, East Carolina, Mississippi State, Ohio, Ole Miss, Washington State, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Ferguson played at Antioch (Tenn.) this past season and hauled in 25 passes for 368 yards and scored five touchdowns. The wide receiver has offers from Boston College, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Morgan State, Massachusetts, Middle Tennessee State, UAB, UT Martin and Wisconsin.
