The 2025 high school football season in Utah is already halfway over. At the midway point, many of the state’s typical top programs sit atop the rankings, per the Massey Ratings.

One of the biggest games of the season is set for this Friday as No. 1 Corner Canyon hosts No. 2 Lone Peak. In fact, that’s one of three top-10 matchups coming up this week in the Beehive State.

Below are the top 25 teams in Utah heading into the second half of the season, according to the Massey Ratings.

1. Corner Canyon Chargers (5-0)

The Corner Canyon offense, led by senior four-star Texas A&M quarterback commit Helaman Casuga, is as dominant as it gets in the state. The Chargers smushed Brighton 49-7 last week and are now averaging over 48 points per game. Now the No. 6 program in the nation, Corner Canyon welcomes No. 2 Lone Peak to Draper this week. The Massey Ratings predict a 38-21 win for the Chargers.

2. Lone Peak Knights (4-1)

After suffering its first loss of the season via forfeit to national powerhouse Bishop Gorman (Nev.), Lone Peak rebounded with a dominant ranked 34-7 win over top-20 Farmington. In their four wins thus far, the Knights defense has allowed 52 total points. Senior Tate Barney took 13 rushes for 97 yards and a score in the latest win. Lone Peak is the clear underdog on the road this week, but it has a chance to pull off another upset. The Knights stunned Corner Canyon 28-21 last season.

3. Skyridge Falcons (4-1)

In one of the more high-profile interstate matchups of last week, Skyridge was unable to stop Cherry Creek (Colo.) in a 51-28 loss. Senior quarterback Kaneal Sweetwyne threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns, but also four interceptions in the defeat. The schedule doesn’t get easier for the Falcons moving forward. Their final four regular-season matchups will come against the other current top-five teams in the state. No. 5 Lehi comes to town this weekend before Skyridge heads to Corner Canyon on Sept. 26.

4. American Fork Cavemen (5-0)

American Fork once again took care of business last week, blanking Layton 38-0. The Cavemen finished their three-game road stretch undefeated, defeating ranked foes in Salt Lake City West and Farmington before the win over Layton. The tests really begin to come this week, though. No. 7 Davis comes to American Fork this week and No. 2 Lone Peak will follow to round out September.

5. Lehi Pioneers (4-1)

Lehi has allowed just 31 total points through three games. Its also now tallied 42 points in each of its last two games, defeating Desert Hills and No. 22 Weber. The Pioneers’ lone loss thus far came in a 9-7 slog at No. 10 Mountain Ridge. Like the other programs at the top of the state rankings, there’s a slew of elite matchups on deck for Lehi. It heads to No. 3 Skyridge this week before hosting No. 8 Herriman and No. 4 American Fork in the following two weeks.
