KINGSLAND, Ga.- In a battle of undefeated South Georgia high school football powers on Friday night, Valdosta proved themselves way ahead of their adversaries out of Camden County.

The Wildcats of Valdosta used a powerful offensive attack, led by a quadruplet of stars as they cruised to a 63-19 victory over Camden County at Chris Gilman Stadium. Valdosta improved to 5-0 on the season. The victory is No. 970, which leads the entire country all-time in high school football.

No stopping 2027 RB Deron Foster

For seemingly one half of play, it looked liked the 2027 three-star running back was well on his way to setting a Georgia high school football rushing touchdowns record.

Deron Foster (108 yards) punched in four touchdowns in the opening half of Valdosta’s win over Camden County and it really wasn’t that close all throughout the second half, in which the tailback played sparingly.

Valdosta (6-0) played fast and furiously on offense, leading to 49 first half points and the decisive victory, silencing any noise that the Wildcats aren’t the class of the 229. Foster spearheaded the offensive avalanche in the first half en route to a strong region victory.

Camden County’s defense had no answers for Valdosta’s offense

To put it bluntly, Camden County’s defense had zero answers for Valdosta’s fast-paced offense. From the opening kickoff, which the return was fumbled by Camden County, it was all Valdosta from there.

Valdosta did a great job mixing it up between the pass and run, leaving Camden County’s defense on their heels the entire night. What it led to for Shelton Felton’s group was a superb first half of play that just continued into the latter two quarters as well.

Whether it was Foster or athlete Marquis Fennell (200 yards, four touchdowns) or quarterback Tyrieke Wade (13 of 16, 206 yards) or wide receiver Prince Jean, each of the four aforementioned players were unstoppable throughout the night. Valdosta and Lowndes should be a very interesting matchup come Halloween time.

There’s a couple positive building blocks for Camden County to continue looking forward with

Though it was an overall rough night for Travis Roland and Camden County, the Wildcats have a couple players they can look forward to as the season progresses and next year as well.

Juniors William Jackson and Sean Green showed flashes of their brilliance throughout the night in the face of a blowout being handed to them by South Georgia foe Valdosta. The two made plays throughout the evening, with Green returning a kick for a touchdown and Jackson hanging in under heavy pressure from Valdosta’s front seven.

Yes, Camden County’s defense faithful might not take solice in watching their Wildcats get routed by Valdosta. What the community of Kingsland can remain positive about is having a couple juniors like Jackson and Green is helpful for the rest of 2025 and also 2026.
