Virginia High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Nov. 25
The postseason continued in the Old Dominion last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Virginia high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 25.
1. The St. James Academy Strivers
In the Strivers’ first season, they have scored 50 or more points four times and have shut down two opponents. While they lost to St. Frances Academy in their finale, this inaugural Virginia high school football campaign shows promise for the upstart St. James Academy.
2. Maury Commodores
The Commodores continue to dominate their opponents, as proven in their 42-10 victory over Warwick. Maury didn’t allow a touchdown until the fourth quarter, when the outcome was all but settled. This victory helped them advance to the Class 5 Regional Finals against King’s Fork on November 28.
3. Varina Blue Devils
The Blue Devils kept their season alive after a 34-0 shutout victory over Dinwiddie. A 20-point fourth-quarter explosion helped Varina win this Virginia high school football Class 4 regional semifinal showdown. Next on their plate is the regional finals, wherein they will face Huguenot on November 29.
4. Riverbend Bears
The Bears are still spotless this season following a dominating 56-6 victory over Potomac Falls. This victory marked the seventh time they’ve limited an opponent to seven points or less this season. Riverbend will advance to the Class 5 regional finals, wherein they will face Stone Bridge on November 28.

5. Benedictine Cadets
The Cadets avenged their earlier loss to Trinity Episcopal by defeating the Titans in the Virginia high school football Division I championship. Scoring 20 points in the first half is enough for Benedictine to finish their season at 11-1, a significant improvement from their 9-3 mark in 2024.
