Bammer’s Walker White

The national media glazing is insane. This guy was playing against 5’5 white guys all in HS and now he’s a 5 star😂

I’ve seen wild final ratings bumps for big programs, but this is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. He will be a career back up at Iowa before he takes an SEC snap.

@CharlesPower again with a bama bump. Moving this kid up 70 spots because of where he signed. No different than what they did with Keelon Russel and the WR that jumped from 3 star to high 4 star.

two years in a row Bama flips a 3 star QB from a bad team and they end up as a five star it's so transparent it's sad

Gonna play steelman here but I agree with using commit destinations as part of the rating algorithm. The team at On3/Rivals can only evaluate players so much, so using actual school evaluations is a good proxy for real world capability. The Shannon Terry Model has long been public about star level being NFL draft project-ability. And over the last 20 years bama has had more players drafted than any other school. Now, is this player in particular a 5 star or is the algorithm too heavily weighted on commit locations? Who knows. Only time will tell. But its not worth getting your panties in a bunch, especially in the modern era where just about every QB transfers every year.

I agree with using team evals, the problem I have sometimes is that ranking guys will use some crazy excuse to why a guy jumped or dropped instead of just saying “ Well he is going bama so he has a more likely hood of being drafted higher” or “he is going to a school that doesn’t have success at with that position NFL wise.”

I would agree if it was still Saban getting the guy he wanted but it isn't

I agree with that. Or them just not giving any reason at all. A big problem is fans hanging on to every commit and their rating. Fans need to change their perspective and start to look at talent level in the aggregate. Generally, a team must have top 10 hs and top 10 transfer portal rankings annually, therefore a top 15 total composite rating, in order to compete meaningfully and regularly. Of course with exceptions (Indiana, Iowa, Navy, Tulane, etc)

Bama is still bama until it isnt, regardless of Saban. Bama still made the SECCG and 2nd round of the playoffs this year. After next season there will be no Saban players left at bama. So you have to give credit to DeBoer on some level.

There you go brother! That’s the spirit. Debore is a total stud and needs to stay in tuscaloosa for a long time. Keep up the good talk and keep convincing as many bammers as you can. And just think, the 38-3 score really wasn’t that bad. Let’s give Debore credit. If Indiana had of scored two less TD’s and missed a FG, it would have only been 21-3. So he is doing great.

Yea I give Deboer credit for having the worst combined losses by a bammer coach since Mike Shula....go Husky Harsin, you "earned" it.
