Those guys are pretty confident that they beat us including their mods. Main points they are making are that we struggle defending he PNR and that their guards are vastly superior to ours and they feel confident shutting down our 3 point game. Also they think Mara is soft and will take it right at him and get him into foul trouble and that we have no depth behind him to come in.
we’ll see. Personally I love our chances if we play our game and have a decent night shooting the 3 ball.

Part of the matchup is simply going to come down to whether or not Jaden Bradley can make his pull-up elbow jumpers. Yes, Michigan is willing to give those up (with a contest), and not going to play at the level or hedge against him like they did with Ja'Kobi Gillespie, because he's more like a Donovan Dent-level three-point shooter than Gillespie or Wagler.
Drop coverage will keep Mara around the rim, and hopefully not allow Krivas or Peat to get too good of low-post position.
That's the ball screen stuff I'm interested in.
Burries is a much different challenge since he's a complete player. But Michigan has bigger bodies like Roddy, Nimari and, most interestingly, Yax to throw at him. Gonna have to fight over screens well.

Being a resident here in AZ, there is definitely an air of confidence.... it will be nice to shift that confidence in the other direction.

They have 2 losses all year, why wouldn’t theor fan base be confident?

They have good guards. They are not vastly superior. It's a big mistake to underestimate Michigan's guards. They've fared very well against excellent competition. The AZ guards aren't on some different tier that our players haven't dealt with before.
I'd put our guards up against anyone. I think it will be a very even matchup.

They have a great team and have every reason to be confident.
But so do we.

Koe gets a lot of press but is not that dynamic and he won't be able to push out Morez. If we shoot it well from 3 as you said I don't think they can keep pace with us because they don't like to get into that game. Then they have to rely on the Dellorso and Karchenkov neither of which can create their own shot, but will knock them down if open. Really tough game. Even when we lost to Duke I thought we were the better team, but these guys match up with us pretty well. Those guys are pretty confident that they beat us including their mods. Starting three freshmen is a recipe for trouble late in games when you get punched in the mouth.

I think it’s going to come down to our three point shooting (they don’t take enough threes to make theirs as important) more than anything else. Inside scoring is going to be a chore for both teams in this game since both teams have great size and defend the rim so well. Zona will take (and hit) their share of mid-range jumpers and we are going to answer with three point attempts. If we hit them at the rate we’ve been converting so far in this tournament I think we win. Cadeau, Nimari, Trey, Yax, Will and (the suddenly deadeye) Roddy are all candidates to win (or lose) it for us in this one.

Zona guards are better one-on-one scores, not that Cadeau, Roddy, or Trey can’t create in their own. That means in a possession for possession game coming down to the end, they might have a slight edge, but UM has shown the ability to use the pass to get good looks late in games.
On 3 pt shooting, I know Zona doesn’t take a ton but think it’s a mistake to assume they can’t make them. I think UM has to be a little careful about over helping, especially off their best shooters.
