Keep G5 schools out the playoffs

I think people say they would watch, but it would turn into what the NIT is. Nobody watches that. Do you watch group of 5 matchups during the regular season?

I think the NCAA tournament is a bit different with the size of the field. I don’t think there’s a ton of interest in any sport watching a team that can’t crack the top 64. I also think the timing being closer to the portal opening helps generate interest, I 100% watched USF’s bowl game just to get a look at Koger and Neptune.

Basketball is a completely different game than football, not as much variability in performance. there is a reason why Disney let turner have these two crappy late games

G5 should have an 8 team playoff. It would be best for them. People watch FCS games, they would watch a G5 playoff.

A&M vs Miami Ole Miss vs Vandy or Texas Oregon vs Notre Dame Today could have been an elite day of college football. I’m not arguing that Group of Five teams should be excluded entirely, but the system should make it more likely that the ones who can actually compete with Power Four teams get in. A G5 team should either finish the season ranked in the top 12, or be undefeated with at least one win over a P4 opponent and a top 25 win.

explain who deserved the spot surely wasnt another an SEC school. TAMU our highest seeded team, looked like trash out there. USF had a better offense vs miami and the aggies even had homefield advantage

It would have made the first round more interesting; however, it is highly unlikely any of these first teams are still standing at the end.

There probably won’t ever be a G5 school get past the 1st round much less win a natty. Just give them their own playoff and natty
