I’m hoping Pope turns it around for good, and if not, multiple better candidates present themselves because I’m starting to agree with this. Dude is absolutely obnoxious. At least with Dan Hurley it’s kinda endearing/comical

He’s a very good coach. Certainly not my favorite or my choice to be here but he’s good.

Yeah it would really suck to be a one seed again, win the conference, go to a final four, etc.

He’d kill it here. He already is a good recruiter. Make him the head coach of Kentucky and I’d bet it’d take his recruiting to the next level. But Barnhart screwed us.

His team is not that great this year. It’s basically Philon and a bunch of role players. Give him the UK brand and it’s different.

He has an NIL much lower than other schools he’s competing against. I don’t love his feast or famine style, but he’s doing well with what he has resource wise.

He’d be the perfect coach here it pains me that he’s wasting away at Bama

This Bediako situation and the way Oats is handling it doesn’t sit well with me. I knew he was a questionable person following the Miller situation, but this confirms it. I love to win but, man.

Philon is so good though. I wish we had a player like him. Yeah Oats would kill it at Kentucky. Which makes it even more frustrating that our AD went and hired a mid major coach just because he was a player here. Oats would have us back on top of college basketball in his first season.

Don’t think we get Oats even if we wanted him regardless so this is a moot point. He had an 18 million dollar buyout too

Why do we have such a hard time with Alabama and everyone else beats them? Make it make sense!

He just got out coached by of all people Barnes. UT and Bama both 3-3 in conference play.

We paid $6 million to buy Pope out of his BYU contract and will probably have to pay him close to $20 million to fire him. We would have come out ahead with Oats unless we just continue to be mediocre and not fire Pope.

We are not firing Pope this year. I don’t understand how fans can’t see that.

I don't think he comes here either way at least not in 2024. There's really no point in speculating
