On Deion

It must be false. I looked at a CU board, and there is no talk about this. Not sure why anyone would threaten Deion, not any opponents. Why would they?

I’m not a fan of Deion, but I can believe he’s probably received death threats. I’m not saying it actually happened, but I can believe it’s possible. For example: Roger Maris received media criticism in newspapers, a lot of fan hate mail and death threats - all because they considered him unworthy of breaking Babe Ruth’s home run record… in 1961. If Roger Maris - who offered ZERO self promotion - can receive hate and threats for simply breaking a home run record… in 1961… then anything is possible. There’s always going to be a sect of people that are stupid and real pieces of shıt.

The proliferation of sports gambling is fueling this crap.

I’m not sure about the death threats but I can confirm he’s a clown and a laughable coach

Not a Deion fan at all, but I believe he gets death threats regularly. I've seen people with zero fame get the most vile threats--rape and death aimed at them and their kids--for getting crossways with certain segments of the internet. Deion is in another universe than these people as far as notoriety and is very outspoken, so I do believe he gets a good amount of them.

The Padres manager resigned after the season due to death threats during the season. It took a mental toll on him.

Unrealistic expectations of the fans mostly due to his own loud mouth blabbering make it seem likely. Five per day, I doubt it.

Has it happened? Possible/Probable. Does it happen 5 times a day. No way in hell.

Or Lance McCullers Jr getting death threats from some rando in Europe. Five threats per day might be a stretch, but five per week wouldn't surprise me. Lot of dorks and losers out there.

people are crazy these days. I believe it. on an unrelated note, first thing I do in the morning is have my coffee and send my death threats.

Not suggesting we all feel bad for famous people, but I imagine a lot of celebrities have to deal with that kind of stuff much more than we would think. You can’t completely control the kind of attention your fame will bring you. Five times a day still seems like an exaggeration, but maybe they’re counting every sort of unhinged comment they get, idk.

I can't see anyone threatening Deion. Why? Makes no sense. I'm.sure B12 opponents want Prime there as long as possible.
