Since when did refs start changing foul calls by replay?

I don't think I've ever seen it. Is it by the rules? If so why didn't they call the same guy for the blatant shove off on that same in bounds pass. Nutz

Only on supposed cylinder violations can they do it

That review is up there with one of the strangest calls I’ve ever seen… and I watch big ten basketball. Lots of questions.

Did the refs just completely misapply the logic about the offensive player having that cylinder? I mean, seemed like it was excessive and checked every box to be a flagrant foul to me but if someone wanted to argue that the offensive player gets his "cylinder" and the elbow wasn't high, so it should be a no call... maybe, maybe. But a foul on Burnett? Seems completely illogical.

Sterratore said it did not apply due to Nimari’s positioning.

That was his opinion . The 3 officials thought differently

That was crazy! The last foul on Morez was almost as bad. The guy grabbed and jerked him backwards. Morez had inside position before that happened too.

My question is when did they start being able to change who the foul is on. Why can't they apply a foul on a play where the ball is knocked out of bounds and they review to see who it went out off of and the offensive was fouled in the process?

Gene Serratore steals money. He's horrible. He was horrible as an NFL guy, and has been horrible as a Big 10 ref forever...

They have very few review options that allow them to change the foul. One is on an offensive foul that might have been a cylinder violation or on a block/charge call involving the restricted area under the basket. I maintain that it is still criminal that they can’t officiate the entire sequence leading to an out of bounds. That they can change who it went off of even with a clear foul is baffling

There is a first time for everything. I think those officials will be reprimanded. Because it made no sense whatsoever. I can’t even think of a generous way to explain what they were thinking

With Morez called for traveling when he hadn't even picked up his dribble a close second...

Sometimes it seems like there is an underdog whistle.

There were many calls and non calls that really shocked me, which is hard to do after watching the B1G tourney and the crap Purdue got away with.

Good lord I thought Big officiating was bad. That might have been the worst game all year.

If his logic is sound on the definition of cylinder, the 3 officials got it wrong.

Seriously could’ve been a game changer Instead of 2 shots & ball (4-5 potential points), they went to the line for potentially 2 points. They missed the front end, but that was POTENTIALLY a 7-pt swing decision. That’s just plain nuts!!!

Gene is often wrong.. just because he says something doesn’t mean it’s true. I thought it could have went either way.. and it went the wrong way for us.

Dusty could have had them look at that and chose not to.
