2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament Day 3: Results, schedule, updated bracket

The third, and final, day of pool play at the Pac-12 Baseball Tournament wrapped up on Thursday with one grouping — Pool B — already decided.

And that meant the opening game between the losers of that pool, No. 2 seed Oregon State and No. 5 seed Arizona State, took on some significant meaning. With the three pool winners advancing to the semifinals, the fourth team is picked by selecting the highest seeded team with the best record from the remaining six teams.

Holding the No. 2 seed, a win over the Sun Devils would put Oregon State in prime position to advance to the semifinals out of Pool B, despite No. 8 seed Stanford going 2-0 and winning it.

And the Beavers did just that, coming from behind to secure a 3-2 win that positions them well to advance to the semifinals, especially if No. 1 seed Arizona wins its pool, as expected.

USC and Oregon kept the entertainment coming in the second game of the day, with the Trojans ultimately escaping with a 4-2 victory. In the win, Ryan Jackson was a standout, tallying two hits and two RBI, including a pivotal home run in the sixth inning.

Cal concluded the action-packed night with a nail-biting 7-5 victory over Arizona. Peyton Schulze was the hero for the Golden Bears. In the win, the junior infielder tallied two home runs, producing five total RBI.
