2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament: Results, schedule, updated bracket
The 2024 Pac-12 Tournament was in full swing Wednesday. The action started with Oregon State taking on Stanford on the Pac-12 Network.
Early in the game between the Beavers and Cardinal it was a pitcher’s duel. Halfway through the game, only a solo home run off the bat of Malcolm Moore separated the two teams. That was when Stanford added another run to take a two-run lead.
Stanford held that 2-0 lead going into the ninth inning. That’s when Oregon State made sure to put up a fight late, getting runners to the corners with just one out in the ninth inning and were even able to get one of those runs in on a fielder’s choice. However, it wasn’t enough and Stanford held on to win.
Pitching remained the story of the day for the Cardinal. That started with Joey Volchko, who earned the start for Stanford and would go on to pitch into the seventh inning. A freshman, he’s been earning trust and innings throughout the season and, clearly, that’s with good reason.

The next game of the night was a good one as Oregon and Utah battled it out in a close matchup. It was a 2-2 game in the seventh inning when the Utes got a two-run single from Matt Flaharty to make it a 4-2 lead, and that held as the final score – sending Utah to the next round.
The night cap between Washington and Arizona went back and forth out of the gate. UW took an early 2-0 lead before the Wildcats got some big swings, including a three-run home run from Mason White in the third inning, to eventually take a 6-3 lead into the ninth. While Washington scored two runs in the bottom half, Arizona closed the door to come away with the 6-5 victory.
The Pac-12 Tournament starts with pool play. After that, the remaining teams will play in a set of semifinal games. Following those, the winners are set to advance to the Pac-12 Championship Game. No two teams from the same pool can meet in the semifinal round.
