Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice has received offers from 21 schools. Going forward, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound recruit will be focusing on eight of them.

Following his junior season, AuburnFloridaGeorgiaLSUMiamiMissouriNC State and USC are Dice’s finalists. He has already made visits to three SEC programs in Auburn, Florida and Georgia.

“Every team that’s in my top eight, I feel like they have a good chance of developing me the right way and helping me go to the league,” Dice told On3. “I really have a good relationship with all of the schools.”

According to Dice, his recruitment reached another level in the spring following his high school transfer. Around that time is when most of his top eight offered him.

Dice feels like his finalists have done a good job staying in contact with him. As a result, the No. 32 player in Georgia is hoping to take multiple junior day visits in January.

At the moment, Dice is planning to commit in August or some other time next year. Despite being in no rush to make a decision, he already knows what will matter most in deciding where to play college football.

“What is important to me is development, where I can play and family,” said Dice, the No. 291 overall prospect and No. 21 offensive tackle in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. “I want to make sure I’ll be developed to play early and also, go to the league. I want to go somewhere where I feel like, ‘Okay, I can stay here for the next four years,’ and I feel like the coaches really like me and my family is comfortable with me staying down there for four years.”

Multiple finalists have made an early impression on Dice

Earlier this fall, Dice was on hand for two of Auburn’s games. They were against then-No. 1 Georgia and then-No. 8 Alabama.

Despite the Tigers losing by seven to the Bulldogs and three to the Crimson Tide, the four-star was impressed by Auburn’s performance in both contests at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

“I really watched how they competed at a high level with really competitive teams like that,” Dice said.

Dice also went to Athens and Gainesville over the summer. So far, his trips to Florida have been a positive experience.

“One thing I can say about Florida is it’s like a really big family,” Dice said. “Besides football, the culture down there is crazy. That’s why I like them so much.”

USC is another school that has caught the early attention of Dice. So far, the Trojans have no commitments in their 2025 recruiting class

“I talked to (head coach) Lincoln Riley and the offensive line coach (Josh Henson) not too long ago on FaceTime,” Dice said. “I’ve gotten to know most of their staff.”
