More on Thursday at the NCAA Tournament
For the most part, chalk held on Thursday. Just two upsets took place and double-digit seeds Drake and McNeese are into the Round of 32 with the chance to make history on Saturday. A win against Texas Tech would put Drake into their first Sweet Sixteen since 1971 while McNeese is attempting to break through for the first time ever.
Most headlines will be made in Providence, though. St. John’s and Arkansas will be a battle of two familiar head coaches but at new programs. Rick Pitino and John Calipari have gone head-to-head many times but this one will be different.
Round of 32 matchups can be some of the best of the entire event. Teams are desperate to advance to the second weekend and plenty of power conference foes are facing each other. Hopefully, Saturday’s slate is able to deliver in a big way.
