Charlotte (N.C.) Charlotte Christian four-star EDGE Bryce Young announced Monday night that he will be committing on April 29. Young is deciding between Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee and USC, according to Tom Loy of 247 Sports.

Young is the No. 314 overall prospect and No. 21 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in North Carolina.

On3 rates Young higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 236 overall prospect and No. 8 player in North Carolina.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound pass rusher holds 19 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame has a commanding lead for his commitment at 97.3%.

Young has already visited the Fighting Irish twice this year. His most recent trip to South Bend came last weekend for the Blue-Gold Game.

“I really like the coaching staff,” Young told On3’s Jeremy Johnson on Feb. 17. “I’ve been to campus… I love the program and everything they stand for. I love coach (Al) Washington. I’ve also build a great relationship with him.”

The RPM also has Notre Dame trending to land four-star wide receiver Micah Gilbert, Young’s high school teammate. He is committing on May 2.

Young’s father, Bryant Young, played at Notre Dame before spending 14 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. Bryant was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022.

“He’s pretty quiet (during Notre Dame visits), but if he sees something that he experienced, then he’ll say something,” Young told Mike Singer of Blue and Gold on Jan. 15. “But he’s letting me go through the process and see what I think about it for myself.”

Young has recently visited three of his finalists

Young is also expressing interest in USC. He last visited the Trojans on March 25.

“The conversation that I had with coach (Roy) Manning was good,” Young said to Johnson. “My sister went to USC and she loved it. I’m sure I’d love it too if I can see myself there.”

The four-star told Scott Schrader of WeAreSC on March 26 that he is planning to take an official visit to the Trojans this summer. Meanwhile, Young most recently visited Tennessee on Jan. 28.

He also saw the Volunteers on Oct. 29. Meanwhile, the North Carolina native was at Notre Dame two weeks earlier.
