Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star offensive lineman Dontrell Glover has backed off his pledge to Alabama and opened his recruitment back up. The No. 158 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings committed to the Crimson Tide in April, but after the coaching change, he is back on the market.

“It came down to the coaching change,” Glover told On3. “I talked to Coach Eric Wolford on Monday night and once I knew he was leaving, I decided to decommit. Coach Wolford and Coach Nick Saban were big reasons why I committed to Alabama.

“My relationships at Alabama have to start over again now. Most of the coaches I talked to in the building are gone, so I just need to start over.”

Alabama is still Alabama and Glover plans to be back in Tuscaloosa on Feb. 3.

“Alabama is still going to be a top school. They are bringing in a winning coach, the standard at Alabama is still the same and I will be back over there soon to connect with the new coaches. We will see how I feel once things settle down and I get back over there.”

Auburn had Glover on campus this past weekend. He will be in Knoxville this weekend. There are a handful of schools high on his list now that he is an uncommitted recruit.

“Auburn, Tennessee, Missouri, Florida and Texas are the main ones. I am sticking with the schools that have been sticking with me. Those schools kept recruiting me even after I committed to Alabama, so I will keep talking with them and take visits.”

Glover is in no rush to make another decision. He is not ruling an early decision out, but he plans to take his recruitment into the fall.

“I am planning to commit during the season or closer to signing day,” Glover said. “I will take my official visits first, then make my decision. Everyone that has been recruiting me has a chance.”
