Isaiah Evans is the No. 42 ranked player in the 2024 On3 Consensus. The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 9.9-points, 4.1-rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game and shot 33.7-percent from three playing with The Skills Factory on the 16u Nike EYBL Circuit this summer.

“I’m at my best when I’m hitting threes and spacing the floor,” Evans told On3. “I’m an energetic player who likes to get my team going vocally and being that presence getting everyone involved. I defend and rebound, and I think I showed in July I can handle the ball pretty well too. I love watching James Harden and how he takes players off the dribble. He is unstoppable, and people can’t really do anything about it.”

The four-star wing from Huntersville (NC) North Mecklenburg High had many college coaches buzzing. On3 caught up with Isaiah Evans at a recent Made Hoops camp to see which schools are prioritizing him.

“I don’t have any official visits set yet,” Evans said. “But I plan to see Tennessee and Arkansas pretty soon. I hear a lot from Georgetown too.”

Evans talks recruitment

Tennessee: “They made me a priority early before I blew up. I watch their games and know I can fit into their offense. Knoxville is somewhere I would like to live too, so they are definitely somewhere I want to go visit.”

Arkansas: “I know Coach (Eric) Musselman has flipped that program around fast. They play how I play. They play hard, and they are really energetic. Really, I just like their program in general. They have been showing me a lot of love.”

Georgetown: “The first thing that sticks out with them is Coach (Patrick) Ewing; I mean, he’s a Hall of Famer. Guys like Allen Iverson went to school there. A lot of good players go there and do big things.”

Ohio State hasn’t offered yet, but they keep in contact a lot,” Evans said.

Evans take

“I want to go somewhere that will get me better,” Evans said. “I want to get to the NBA and go to a school that will develop me to get there. I’ll need to improve physically, so I’ll look closely at the schools with a history of giving players that extra push.

“I want to go to a program that is fast-tempo, where they space the floor. I want to go into a culture that is high-energy. Play with guys that are going to match what I’m doing.”

On3’s take

Isaiah Evans is a lengthy prospect, all arms and legs right now. He moves fluidly and is comfortable handling the ball in the open floor. He is good in the passing lanes; his length and anticipation help deflections. Evans is very thin and will need to continue adding weight. The jump shot comes across his face and is inconsistent. Good off-ball cutter seems to have a high basketball IQ. Inconsistent in creating in the half-court, re-tooling the jump shot will also help here. He has a lot of tools and a natural basketball IQ; he also competes and does a lot of the little things.
