Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley four-star linebacker S’Maje Burrell dropped a top-11 school list Sunday. The 11 schools are Baylor, Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Tech, USC and Utah.

Burrell is the No. 258 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the No. 74 prospect in the 2023 On300 ranking, which makes him the the third-ranked linebacker in the class after Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit’s Troy Bowles and Denton (Texas) Ryan’s Anthony Hill.

“Burrell has the video to back up the move from No. 211 to 74 — and the football intelligence,” On3’s Gerry Hamilton wrote last month when the new On300 was released. “He will not only be a downhill tackling machine, but also has the goods to call the defense. Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Ohio State and USC are the teams highest on the list. The Sooners and Longhorns will receive visits in the next month.”

Burrell currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.3k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
