Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star wide receiver Koby Howard has been offered by over three dozen schools. The 5-foot-11.5, 175-pound playmaker got an early start in recruiting. With the early offers, he has taken a lot of visits, built relationships and he has narrowed it down to eight schools.

“My top eight schools are Florida, FSU, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Missouri, Notre Dame and Tennessee,” Howard told On3. “Coaches at these schools have a relationship with me, these schools have a spot there and they all run a pass-friendly offense. Each of these schools has what I am looking for.”

Eight schools are on the list now, but by the end of the month, Howard plans to be committed.

“After talking with my dad, we decided that March 31, Easter Sunday, would be a great day to announce my commitment. I am visiting Florida this week (March 8), I have a visit to Tennessee scheduled for March 23 and I am trying to get a few more visits locked in before I commit.

“I could go to any of the schools on my list. Over the next few weeks, I will take some visits, keep talking with the coaches and make my decision. The school I commit to will be the one me and my dad feel is the best fit for me.”

Out of the eight schools on Howard’s list, he has visited all except for Ole Miss and Missouri at least once. He visited Florida State and Miami earlier this year before the dead period in February kicked in.

Howard is the No. 334 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.

Howard talks Florida, Florida State and Miami

Florida State: “They were the first school to offer me,” Howard told On3 last month. “It used to be close to home and I am familiar with the school and the coaches. The coaches have been consistent, they stuck with me through my injury and it feels like home. Almost every day, someone from the Florida State staff is texting me or checking on me and making sure I am good. The coaches have been great.”

Florida: “I love the relationship I have with (wide receivers) coach (Billy) Gonzales,” Howard told Gators Online on Feb. 11. “He makes me a priority on his list. (Head) coach (Billy) Napier, he just came to my school and texts me every now and then to make sure I’m good. I really like the relationship we are building and I love the atmosphere at Florida.”

Miami: “The relationship is really great and ever since Aug. 1, they’ve made it a priority to keep in touch with me,” Howard told CaneSport on Nov. 3. “(Wide receivers) coach (Kevin) Beard will call me and we’ll just chop it up for like an hour not even about football, but just about life and stuff. I feel like the relationship I have with (head) coach (Mario) Cristobal and coach Beard are great relationships.”
