4-star WR Ny Carr breaks school receiving TD record
Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Ny Carr is the talk of the college football recruiting world this week following his decommitment from Georgia.
The speedy 5-foot-10, 170-pounder is once again on the board and is being sought after by a heap of high-profile programs. He made his services look appealing once again on Friday night as he etched his name into the Colquitt County record books.
Making a juggling grab in the end zone, Carr hauled in his 35th touchdown reception, breaking the school’s previous record:
Carr is the No. 62 overall prospect and No. 12 WR in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 11 player in Georgia.
One of the teams that’s making noise in the race for Carr is Auburn. The wideout will be on the Plains for a visit this weekend, giving the Tiger faithful hope that he could be added to the pledge list toward the end of the cycle.

“I think Auburn would certainly like to think it had a lot to do with Auburn,” Auburn Live insider Jeffrey Lee said about Carr’s decommitment. “They have been on this kid extremely heavy since they got on campus, really. This was the turn of the calendar year, he came in for an unofficial visit in January. Got great feedback from him. Marcus Davis, even Trovon Reed, have been really heavy in recruiting this kid. Getting Ny back on campus for the Big Cat Weekend back at the end of July and there was some positive feelings there after that visit.”
Miami will also be in the mix, as Carr told CaneSport that the Hurricanes were “at the top” following his UGA decommitment. Miami first-year tight ends coach Cody Woodiel was in the Peach State to check out the elite recruit the day after he decommitted.
“I really, really like where Miami stands with this one,” CaneSport insider Izubee Charles said. “Miami was quick to send a coach up there Monday following his decommitment on Sunday … after speaking with his head coach up at Colquitt County he said the visit went extremely well, he said Carr backed off his commitment from Georgia because he wanted to see what else was out there … wanted to find a better fit for him on and off the field, and I think that could be Miami.”
