4-star WR Rodney Gallagher committing on July 4
Uniontown (Pa.) Laurel Highlands four-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher will announce his college commitment on July 4.
Gallagher has previously announced a top eight of Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, Texas, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
He has also announced which schools he will be taking official visits to in West Virginia (June 3-5), Notre Dame (June 10-12), Oklahoma State (June 13-15) and Penn State (June 17-19).
The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Gallagher as the No. 107 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $227k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
His father told BWI that his high NIL Valuation is not going to be the biggest factor in his recruitment.
“That’s not the driving force behind what we’re trying to do here,” the elder Gallagher said. “I understand that’s the elephant in the room. I understand that is something that’s present now, and I want to make sure whichever school he goes to, he gets the value he deserves, but I wouldn’t call it the priority in all of this.”
