ACC Tournament Day 4: Live Updates
After Saturday night, we now know who is playing in the ACC Tournament Championship for a shot at the conference’s postseason crown as well as an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, as well as one last opportunity to impress the selection committee before Selection Sunday. On Thursday, the top-four seeds finally saw action and those extra days of rest definitely gave them a boost as every game in Greensboro went chalk with the one, two, three and four seeds all advancing over lower-seeded clubs.
Virginia controlled the first half of their semifinal matchup against Clemson. The Cavaliers are giving the Tigers all they can handle offensively and defensively and currently lead 37- 25 at the half. Virginia is using a team effort to attack the Tigers’ offense. Unfortunately for Clemson, they’re struggling to attack the boards, getting outrebounded in the game 22-14. And are also having a hard time finding passing lanes recording as many turnovers as assists (six) in the first half.
Virginia continued their dominating ways in the second half, refusing to let Clemson get close enough even to believe they had a chance at a comeback. The Cavaliers were in rhythm on the offensive end, led by forward Jayden Gardner. Gardner finished the game leading both teams in points (23) and rebounds (12), finishing the night with a double-double.
With Virginia putting away Clemson, that sets up a rematch between them and Duke in the ACC Tournament final. The last time these two teams faced off, it ended with a controversial no-call in favor of the Cavaliers.

Duke 85, Miami 78
The semifinal matchup between Duke and Miami starter much differently than the team’s previous matchup in Coral Gables. At the half, Duke lead 41-36. The game went back and forth for much, with neither team being able to create much separation. Miami was hit with the injury bug early as forward Norchad Omier injured his right ankle early in the opening minutes of the game after landing on Dereck Lively’s foot. Duke went on to knock off top-seeded Miami 85-78 in their semifinal matchup. The loss of Norchad Omier was too much for the Hurricanes to overcome, as they were outrebounded 34-20 without their star on the boards. Kyle Flipowski picked up a double-double, with 17 points and 10 rebounds, on the night while leading the Blue Devils in scoring.
