Arch Manning injury update: Texas QB leaves game in overtime after nasty fall

Texas is battling in overtime against Mississippi State, attempting to pull off an incredible come-from-behind win. They may have to do so the rest of the way without quarterback Arch Manning. After scrambling for a first down, Manning took a big hit and stayed down.
Trainers and head coach Steve Sarkisian came out to tend to Manning. After walking off the field, there was immediate movement toward the medical tent. Backup Matthew Caldwell entered the game, tasked with getting Texas into the end zone to open overtime.

Exactly what the issue is remains unknown. However, Manning took a shot in the lower portion of his body at first. Moments later, a Mississippi State defender hit Manning hard into the ground. You can check out the full play here.
Manning made his way into the medical tent earlier in the game, also after taking off. All the way back in the first quarter, a designed run was called by Sarkisian that resulted in a touchdown. Staying down for a moment after the score, Manning did not want to receive any kind of medical attention. Thus, the stint in the medical tent was short, letting him play until this point.
