Arch Manning and Garrett Nussmeier have gotten to known each other well during their stay on the campus of Nicholls State University during the Manning Passing Academy. The two are roommates at the event.

Manning was asked about his budding relationship with the fifth-year senior, and the two appear to be chopping it up well. The two have even gone on an errand or two together since arriving in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

“I love Garrett, he’s the man,” Manning said. “He’s a coach’s kid, so he knows ball.

“We went to Walmart last night and got food. So he’s the man. I’m glad — I’m gonna build a good relationship with him.”

Arch Manning and Garrett Nussmeier walking into a Walmart together sounds more like a set up for a bad joke than something that actually happened. Given their location, they were easily recognized.

“We took a few pictures. But it was good,” Manning said.

According to Nussmeier, however, it was just Arch Manning who was recognized. Not the quarterback of Louisiana State University.

“This is hilarious. This is the first time in Louisiana where this has kind of happened,” Nussmeier said, via The Athletic. “We were just laughing. (People) come over, ‘Hey Arch! Arch! Can I get a picture?’ I’m just sitting in the background like ‘Hey guys!’”

Nussmeier said he didn’t have to take any of the pictures, but said that would have been hilarious. “I would’ve loved to take the picture.”

The two SEC quarterbacks seem to be getting on just fine as roommates at the Manning Passing Academy. Hilariously, at Nussmeier’s expense.

Manning and Nussmeier were able to get acquainted prior to this year’s event, as the two recently starred in a Raising Cane’s commercial. The advertisement also features Archie and Cooper Manning – Arch’s grandfather and father.

The commercial features Archie driving Arch, Nussmeier and Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves to the restaurant for lunch while Cooper is working the drive-thru. The ad also pokes fun at the fact Nussmeier’s father, Doug, is now the New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator.

They filmed the commercial earlier in the week ahead of the start of the event. The two quarterbacks yield some of the highest On3 NIL Valuations in the country with Manning at $6.8 million and Nussmeier, who has a $3.8 million valuation.

Manning’s Texas Longhorns and Nussmeier’s LSU Tigers will not meet during the regular season, so it remains to be seen when the two quarterbacks will see each other again in a football setting. Perhaps in the SEC Championships game. Or better yet, the College Football Playoff.
