More on Auburn vs. West Virginia

Auburn had a five-game winning streak snapped this week in rather convincing fashion when Texas A&M torpedoed the Tigers in a 79-63 result. The loss was just Auburn’s fourth all season, with the Tigers once again looking like a probable low seed in the NCAA Tournament.

West Virginia, on the other hand, is coming off the end of a recent run of futility. The Wildcats had lost five straight before finally knocking off a ranked TCU team. West Virginia then lost to a top-10 Texas squad at home, but followed that up with a win on the road at Texas Tech.

The Mountaineers are just 2-6 in Big 12 play currently, but they’re still capable of doing some damage, particularly at home.

The two programs have met just three times in series history, with Auburn currently holding a 2-1 edge in the all-time series. Auburn has won one game in the series at home and one on the road, while West Virginia won the only neutral-site meeting between the two.
