Bahl, DiNardo lead Nebraska softball to 5-0 win over Omaha
Nebraska softball (25-8, 4-1) right-handed pitcher Jordy Bahl and designated player Olivia DiNardo were outstanding in the Huskers’ 5-0 win over Omaha (20-8, 1-2).
The Huskers dominated the Mavericks in front of a record-setting 1,537 attendance at Connie Claussen Field in Omaha on Wednesday, March 26. Nebraska and Omaha combined for 20 native Nebraskans in the mid-week matchup.
DiNardo launched a grand slam in the top of the first inning to give Nebraska a huge lead, which they didn’t relinquish.

In the top of the fifth, DiNardo added Nebraska’s fifth RBI. She sent a double into short right field to help Ava Bredwell, who reached with a single, to score. DiNardo had all five of the Huskers’ RBI, which is a career-high for the Arizona transfer. DiNardo now has 100 career RBI.

In the circle, Bahl showed off while playing in her hometown. The Papillion, Neb. native allowed one hit and hit one batter in seven innings. She struck out a season-high 13 batters.
Bahl and Nebraska softball’s defense retired 17 straight batters and 10 from strikeout. She recorded five consecutive strikeouts, starting in the fourth inning and ending in the sixth.
Omaha native and left-handed pitcher Maddia Groff took the loss. She pitched five innings and allowed seven hits and five runs. She threw 88 pitches, struck out two, and hit two batters.
