Beau Pribula injury update: Missouri QB has MRI scheduled for dislocated ankle
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula did not break any bones after a scary injury Saturday against Vanderbilt. Pribula is still getting an MRI but a dislocated ankle is thought to be the injury at the moment.
“Missouri QB Beau Pribula has MRI scheduled tomorrow for a dislocated ankle,” Nakos said via X. “Did not break any bones.”
Even so, head coach Eli Drinkwitz believes Pribula will end up missing a long time. Nakos later added onto his report, saying the “expectation” is for Pribula to miss the remainder of the 2025 season. A devastating loss for the Tigers.
“Expectation is Pribula will miss remainder of regular season,” Nakos said via X. “Drinkwitz said postgame it could be ‘a while.'”
Pribula did not put up his best performance before the injury. He completed just nine passes for 68 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. Missouri is not afraid to use his legs on a routine basis either but only rushed him four times for 10 yards. Of course, the ankle injury took place on a designed quarterback run.
“Beau has no broken bones, but he did have an ankle injury that had to be popped back in,” Drinkwitz said postgame. “Don’t have a timetable for his return, but it could be a while.”

Now, Missouri turns to backup quarterback Matt Zollers on a full-time basis. A true freshman, Zollers played high school football at Royersford (PA) Spring-Ford and was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 99 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Four games remain for Missouri, as the push to make the College Football Playoff continues. Drinkwitz admitted they are likely done when it comes to playing in the SEC Championship. But there is still plenty of play for when it comes to the CFP in his mind.
A bye week means there will be extra time for Zollers to prepare for the big stage. However, there will be no easing him in when it comes to opponents. Texas A&M comes to town, likely to be ranked inside the top three. Oklahoma is the only other team on the schedule currently in the top 25, also having Arkansas and Mississippi State.
If there is some kind of postseason for Missouri, maybe getting Pribula back is a possibility. Unfortunately, his regular season appears to be over.
