The Big Ten has announced kickoff times and TV networks for the weekend of Oct. 2 and Week 5 of the college football season.

Also at noon in Week 5 on the Big Ten Network will be Charlotte visiting Illinois, and Minnesota and Purdue meeting in West Lafayette. Ohio State will head east for the only 3:30 p.m. ET kick of the day, taking on Rutgers on the Big Ten Network.
The conference has three games scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET in Week 5. Indiana will travel to Penn State, which can be watched on ABC. The Big Ten Network will have Northwestern’s visits to Nebraska, and FS1 will televise Michigan State‘s final nonconference game against Western Kentucky.
Matt Leinart gives thoughts on Penn State, Big Ten
Penn State’s victory over Auburn got the attention of Matt Leinart. Following the win in-front of a deafening crowd, the FOX college football analyst was impressed with not just Penn State — but the Big Ten as a whole.
“Big Ten is deep,” tweeted Leinart. “Huge win for Penn State. The white out is incredible.”

A raucous crowd helped the Nittany Lions defeat the Tigers on Saturday night. Evidently, Penn State didn’t just impress Leinart — they moved up to sixth overall in the AP Poll released yesterday.
Moreover, Penn State is one of the six teams from their deep Big Ten conference that Leinart mentions in the rankings. While Iowa comes in one spot ahead of the Nittany Lions, James Franklin’s squad is ahead of Ohio State — who ranks tenth.
Additionally, Wisconsin, Michigan and Michigan State come in at 18th, 19th and 20th respectively. Elsewhere, Rutgers and Maryland are both 3-0 so far, lending credence to Leinart’s respect for the conference.
As conference play picks up, Penn State will have a chance to separate themselves from the pack. While a lot of season still remains, it’s hard not to be as impressed as Matt Leinart is with the Nittany Lions thus far.
