The 2024 Big Ten Wrestling Championships have the final set after two wild sessions in Maryland Saturday.

Amid the chaos, upsets, wild sequences and more, 20 wrestlers remain. Of course, there are plenty of wrestlebacks to get placement, but these guys will go for the gold.

Below are the matchups for the finals of the 2024 Big Ten Tournament.

125 lbs.

No. 4 Patrick McKee (Minnesota) vs. No. 6 Braeden Davis (Penn State)

McKee needed a little madness to win his semifinal against Rutgers’ Dean Peterson. McKee had riding time but trailed 3-1 near the end of the third. An escape and then a winning takedown in OT punched his ticket to the finals. Davis used overtime as well to beat Michigan’s Michael DeAugustino. Two overtimes in fact.

133 lbs.

No. 1 Dylan Ragusin (Michigan) vs. No. 2 Dylan Shawver (Rutgers)

Ragusin continued his dominance with a win over Penn State’s Aaron Nagao. This was the first weight class with the top two seeds as Shawver ended Iowa’s Brody Teske’s Cinderella run as a No. 14 seed.

141 lbs.

No. 1 Beau Bartlett (Penn State) vs. No. 2 Jesse Mendez (Ohio State)

More chalk here and it’s a match everyone’s going to want to see Sunday. With Mendez’s win over Iowa’s Real Woods, these are definitely the top two guys in the country. Get your popcorn.

149 lbs.

No. 1 Ridge Lovett (Nebraska) vs. No. 2 Austin Gomez (Michigan)

Lovett and Gomez. We love to see it. This will be their fourth meeting and second this season. Lovett won the most recent matchup, but Gomez is hungry after making the Olympics for Mexico.

157 lbs.

No. 1 Levi Haines (Penn State) vs. No. 7 Will Lewan (Michigan)

Haines controlled his way to another Big Ten finals appearance. Last year’s runner up gets Lewan, who beat No. 2 Michael Blockhus (Minnesota) and No. 3 Brayton Lee (Indiana) on his way to the finals.

165 lbs.

No. 1 Dean Hamiti (Wisconsin) vs. No. 2 Mitchell Mesenbrink (Penn State)

Hamiti made quick work of Nebraska’s Antrell Taylor, pinning him in 1:04. Meanwhile, Mesenbrink got a 23-7 tech fall over Iowa’s Michael Caliendo. The two dominant forces clash for the first time this season now Sunday.

174 lbs.

No. 2 Shane Griffith (Michigan) vs. No. 4 Edmond Ruth (Illinois)

Griffith was hurt in his semifinal win, but with a day of rest, he’ll have time to recover for the finals. Ruth got the sudden victory win over Minnesota’s Andrew Sparks.

184 lbs.

No. 1 Isaiah Salazar (Minnesota) vs. No. 3 Bernie Truax (Penn State)

Salazar took down Michigan’s Jaden Bullock as time expired in the match to punch his ticket to the gold medal match. Truax hung on for a 4-2 win over Nebraska’s Lenny Pinto to reach his first final in his first season (albeit last) with Penn State after his transfer in.

197 lbs.

No. 1 Aaron Brooks (Penn State) vs. No. 3 Zach Glazier (Iowa)

Brooks is going for his fourth Big Ten title, thanks to the free COVID year. With that, his quest for a fourth national title is still on as well (there was no NCAA Tournament in 2020 after conferences). Glazier beat Maryland’s Jaxon Smith 4-1 in overtime to clinch his spot.

285 lbs.

No. 1 Greg Kerkvliet (Penn State) vs. No. 2 Nick Feldman (Ohio State)

Kerkvliet dominated his way to the finals with a major decision over Rutgers’ Yaraslau Slavikouski. Feldman beat Davison for the second time this season and it sets up for quite a showdown.
