On Saturday, No. 14 Oklahoma will travel to Columbia for a showdown against South Carolina. Last season was the two teams’ first ever meeting, and South Carolina dominated the matchup, securing a 35-9 victory.

The Sooners will be eager to strike revenge Saturday, and last season’s loss won’t be their only motive. In Week 7, Oklahoma suffered its first loss of the season, falling 23-6 to Texas. Quarterback John Mateer had a lackluster showing after opting to play in the game despite undergoing hand surgery just 17 days prior.

Oklahoma isn’t the only team entering Saturday’s contest with a chip on its shoulder. South Carolina has lost three of its last four outings, most recently falling 20-10 to LSU. A win in Week 8 could be a turning point for the Gamecocks’ season.

Neither team is expected to be at full-strength for the game. Look below to see each team’s latest availability report.

Despite throwing three interceptions in Oklahoma’s loss to Texas last week, Mateer said his injury wasn’t bothering him. He is expected to play again this week and bounce back from his subpar showing against the Longhorns.

Oklahoma fans will undoubtedly also have their eyes on Keontez Lewis. The veteran wide receiver left Oklahoma’s Week 6 win over Kent State with an injury after he ran head-first into the brick wall behind the end zone in Memorial Stadium, while trying to catch a pass.

Lewis was carted off the field and taken “off-site” to be evaluated further. Lewis ultimately played against Texas recording two catches, for 16 total yards. However, on Thursday, he was listed as doubtful to play against South Carolina and downgraded to out Friday.

The most notable injury development for the Gamecocks is defensive back Brandon Cisse. The junior standout has been exceptional for South Carolina this season. He boasts 18 tackles, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and an interception.

Cisse suffered an apparent knee injury in the first quarter against LSU. He was helped off the field and spotted on crutches later in the game. It appears Cisse is trending toward playing this weekend.

Oklahoma and South Carolina will square off at 12:45 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will air live on the SEC Network.
