Cayden Green, Jaylen Mbakwe injury update: Thursday availability report reveals statuses ahead of Alabama-Missouri game

No. 8 Alabama hits the road to take on No. 14 Missouri in what will be just the ninth all-time meeting between the two SEC programs. The Crimson Tide have won the last six straight, including all five since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012.
That said, few of prior meetings have meant as much as Saturday’s Top 15 showdown in Columbia, excluding their meeting in the 2014 SEC Championship game, which Alabama won 42-13. Kickoff for Saturday’s game is 12 noon ET with the game to be televised on ABC.
The Crimson Tide are currently listed as a 3-point road favorite over the host Tigers with an over-under point total of 51.5 points, according to BetMGM.

Questionable:
OL Cayden Green
Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz announced plans to designate Green, the Tigers’ starting left tackle, as “questionable” prior to Wednesday initial availability report, though he acknowledged there are still several hurdles left to clear before he returns to action.
“Cayden Green will be listed as questionable this week,” Drinkwitz said during a Tuesday press conference. “He did get some rehab reps yesterday. Really, the challenge is to see where he is today, to see how that progresses. Won’t know for sure or for certain until the end of the week. So, follow along closely with the SEC availability report.”
Missouri has already ruled out backup quarterback Sam Horn, offensive lineman Logan Reichert and kicker Blake Craig. Meanwhile, Alabama has already ruled out defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman and linebackers Cayden Jones, Jah-Marien Latham and Qua Russaw.
After Alabama initially listed star sophomore receiver Ryan Williams as “probable” on Wednesday’s availability report, On3’s Pete Nakos revealed the Crimson Tide’s big play threat “has tracked well this week and is expected to be available against No. 14. Missouri” earlier Thursday. Alabama cornerback-turned-receiver Jaylen Mbakwe was listed as “doubtful” on Wednesday’s report.
