Timme, Tshiebwe, Bacot, Sasser, and Jackson-Davis have been staples on almost all the preseason award rankings and watch lists. Sasser remains the one guard amongst a big man revival in college basketball with the rest of the Top-5 selections all averaging at least 16.3 points and a combined average of 10.8 rebounds. Right behind them is a group of selections in Dickinson, Jaquez Jr., Edey, and Love who have all been hot selections and talking points as well.
After a down year, the ACC leads the way with six selections on the list from four different teams in the league. The Big 12 earned five, the Big Ten and non-Power Five schools had four apiece, and the SEC had three picks. Of all the schools, North Carolina, Baylor, UCLA, and Duke are the only ones that have more than one selection, which further underlines the parity all over the country.
This sets up to be yet another college basketball season with talent and contenders all over the nation. How it plays out for all of those players and their rosters, though, remains unknown until things get underway come Monday as the official start to the year.
