The ACC continues to be pure chaos coming down the stretch. Exactly who is heading to Charlotte is not yet known but the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets did damage to their chances on Saturday. A loss at home to the Pittsburgh Panthers brought a ton of shock, especially since the game started 28-0. Eventually, Georgia Tech’s failed come-from-behind attempt provided a little bit of clarity. The final score read 42-28 in favor of Pitt.

College Football Playoff implications were certainly on the line as well. Georgia Tech ranked No. 16, still having a chance to vie for an at-large bid. Beating Pitt before going into Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate against the Georgia Bulldogs put them in a great position.

Now, Brent Key will see his team fall quite a bit on Tuesday night. When the CFP rankings are released on ESPN, one of the storylines certainly will be how far the Yellow Jackets drop.

As for the game itself, Pitt put together an all-around performance. Sure, some nerves may have popped up at times, mainly after a fake punt resulted in a Georgia Tech touchdown to make it a seven-point game. However, the dagger came in the form of a Ja’Kyrian Turner 56-yard rushing touchdown.

Pittsburgh put together over 400 total yards, also causing two turnovers on the defensive end. Those led to 14 points — seven of which were a pick-six — and ended up being the difference in the score. Certainly a result for everyone involved with the program to celebrate.

Well, Pat Narduzzi certainly was honest. Narduzzi caught a lot of heat for his comments leading into the Notre Dame game, saying the result did not matter too much. His focus appeared to be on getting a win in the final two ACC games, which kept Pittsburgh’s College Football Playoff hopes alive.

At the very least, the vision played out how he expected it to. Pitt remains right in the thick of things in the ACC, being one of three teams with only one loss. SMU and Virginia are the other two, looking to clinch their own spots in the conference title game.

Miami certainly wants a say as well. In fact, they get a great opportunity with a head-to-head matchup against Pitt on Saturday. A win plus some help from around the league puts the Hurricanes in position.
